Sign Up Forms

The sign up forms are now available in the  Valley Community Church office.  If you can't get to the church, email me and I'll email you a copy.
Remember, I need all the forms and money back to the church, or to me,  by Tuesday November 15th.
Yay!  I'm so excited for this night!

The craft lineup!

As promised, here is a description of each craft that we will be doing on the 18th.

First we have the Christmas Planner:

 This great planner is made from a composition notebook, scrapbook paper and free planner printables. 

 On the inside flap, you'll find an envelope to keep all your coupons in.

 Along the sides of the planner you'll place tabs so you can easily find each section: Calendar, The List, Menu, Cards (address section for your Christmas cards) and To Do, a place for all those extra notes you need to keep.

Inside the calendar section you'll find a weekly planner.

 Inside the back cover you will place an envelope to keep all your reciepts.

This is a great planner.  I'm not a super organized person, but I'm super excited to use this planner this Christmas!  I can envision making one for each child for birthdays too!

Next up, the Rolled Paper Tree:

This is probably my new all-time favorite Christmas Decoration!  It is made with a flat stretched canvas, scrapbook paper and buttons.  We will use varying sized strips of paper, roll them and glue them down to make this adorable Christmas tree.  Then we'll glue on buttons for ornaments and a star on the top!  So cute!

This next craft is a set!  Coasters and Magnetic Clothespins:

These super easy coasters are made from white tiles and pretty Christmas paper.  We will use Mod Podge to adhere the paper and coat it.  Then we'll spray a sealer on it to make it safe for your hot drinks. 

 On the back of the coasters we will glue squares of felt on the corners to protect your furniture from scratching. Then tie a ribbon on it and you're done!

For the clothes pins, we will Mod Podge coordinating paper to the clothes pins, then glue decorative buttons on top.

 Then we will place the magnets on the back of the clothes pins and pinch them onto a stamped card. (excuse the camera strap sneaking its way into the picture!)

And last but most definitely not least, Clothes Pin Christmas Card Holder: 

 This is made the same way as the Magnetic Clothes Pins.  But instead of attaching magnets on the back, we will pinch the clothes pins to a long ribbon.  Then simply hang up the ribbon at home, attach all your beautiful Christmas cards that you receive and enjoy!

 
So these are the 4 crafts we will be making on Friday, November 18th.  Aren't they wonderful?  As I said before, each craft will cost $5 a piece.  Most crafts will take between 30-45 minutes to complete for most people.  The Mod Podge crafts will take longer because you have to wait for each layer to dry before you can add another layer, but that also gives you time to work on a different craft while you wait. 
So fill out an sign up form in the church office and leave it there with the amount of $ for the total number of crafts you will be making.  Then just show up on the 18th ready to create!

Christmas Craftiness is Here!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Ok, maybe not, but I'm feeling it.
Come join me at Valley Community Church at 7pm on Friday, November 18th for an evening of fun, easy and inexpensive crafts that ANYONE can make!  So if you've always wanted to make gifts for your loved ones, or decorations for your home, but you feel like you're craftily challenged, this is the night for you!
Bring a neighbor, friend or a loved one (elementary aged children or older please) and get ready to laugh, talk, nibble on some goodies and best of all....create!
Here are the details:

Where: Valley Community Church Youth Fellowship Hall
When: Friday, November 18th at 7pm
What: Crafting galore!
Why: Why not?
Who: Anyone!
How much: Each craft will cost $5 a piece.

So how do I sign up you ask?
I need to know how many people are coming as well as the total amount of materials that will be needed ahead of time.  All you need to do is fill out a sign up sheet in the church office that lists the different crafts we will have available, let us know which crafts you will be making and leave the sign up sheet and the total amount of $ in the church office. I will make sure all the materials are ready for you that night so all you have to do is show up! Sign ups and $ will need to be turned into the church by Wednesday, November 16th.

I will be posting each craft with pictures and a description of the craft by the end of this week.  So keep checking back to see what wonderful things we will be making!  If you sign up to follow the blog, then it will make it easier for you to see each new post.
